Roosevelt Elk

Davison Road, Redwood National Park, California, USA

Sometimes one can be made to feel very small and insignificant.  And very much in the way.  This bull had gathered up a harem of females which didn't sit too well with the six bachelors that had edged up behind me while I was photographing.  Suddenly, this bull was busy thrashing away at the grass and generally getting a bit agitated.  At that time, I was in the middle of the pending battlefield.  Not really where I wanted to be, to say the least!
